A Country Estate with Unmatched Rustic Beauty

Mount Hope Farm

Mount Hope Farm is one of the last country estates left in Rhode Island. The grounds offer two distinct locations to hold your event, all of which guarantee an unparalleled experience.

Cove Cabin – A Secluded Seaside Cabin

This is a secluded seaside retreat with amazing views of Mt Hope Bridge and Bay. There is an original Adirondack style cabin nestled in red cedar grove recently upgraded that is used for cocktails. The lighted Mt Hope Bridge at night offers breathtaking, priceless views. Adjacent to the cabin is a grassy field perfect for your ceremony or tent.

The Barn – A Historic Polished Barn

Our historic, polished barn venue surrounded by a classic farm setting. Perfect for a smaller wedding, cocktail party, rehearsal dinner or corporate meeting. Tall ceilings, polished floors and beautiful gardens compliment this setting.

Shining Tides

Unmatched Vistas on Serene Mattapoisett Harbor

Unmatched vistas on serene Mattapoisett Harbor makes Shining Tides the ultimate setting for a romantic evening.

This turn of the century family estate has seen a variety of uses. We have kept everything intact and turned back the clock with remarkable results.

Steps from the Ocean

A quaint Cape Cod style porch with sparkling ocean vistas of Mattapoisett harbor and a background of sailboats, sandy beaches, placid waters and salt air. The porch consists of a wood beamed ceiling, cupola and a spacious interior surrounded by seaside flora and soft sea breezes. Cocktails are on the lawn and s’mores at the beachside fire pit. We can accommodate 200 guests on the porch. A larger event can combine a tent on the lawn with the porch.

A Quaint New England Coastal Vineyard

Carolyn's Sakonnet Vineyard

Acres of land, sweeping water views, endless rows of lush grape vines, and charm you can’t find anywhere else, this vineyard will take your breath away.

The Seaview Vineyard – A Plush Vineyard with Rural River Views

Plush vineyard and rural river views combine to make the Sea View Vineyard the ultimate rustic experience. Our gleaming white tent is set in the middle of this natural setting. Cocktails are served with a background of hay bales and glistening grapes.

The Barn – Perfect for an Intimate Event

The Sakonnet Barn is a beautifully unique and eclectic space with a true modern feel to it.  Recently renovated, the Barn is a smaller site that is perfect for an intimate indoor event.  The Barn’s large wooden doors slide open, allowing your guests to flow in and out of the Barn and enjoy the scenic views of the vines.

New Bedford Whaling Museum

Where History and Nature Collide

Keeping with its mission to preserve the narratives of the past and pay tribute to the impact whaling had on the region, the museum has seen its collection along with its space grow consistently over its 107-year history. Cocktails next to the world’s largest model ship, The Lagoda, followed by dinner in the Jacobs Family Gallery make this the most unique space for weddings, rehearsal dinners and corporate events on the Southcoast!

Jacobs Family Gallery – Don’t look up

A light and airy bi-level room reflecting the mysteries of the sea.  This gallery can be combined with one other space for use in the first hour of your event to accommodate cocktail hour or presentations. This extra space can include the Lagoda Room, Ashley Gallery, the Plaza or the Theater. For example, the cocktail hour can be held in the Lagoda Room and the reception can be held in the Jacobs Family Gallery.

The Bourne Building – Home of the The Lagoda

A premier space featuring gleaming hardwood floors and a full size ship model. There is a mezzanine surrounding the room for additional seating. It provides an interesting canvas for cocktails or dinner.

The Harborview Room – Views of the Harbor

Coming soon! For use beginning in August of 2015 there will be a brand new addition to the Whaling Museum built on the fourth floor, seating 200 guests and overlooking New Bedford Harbor.

The Plaza – Open Courtyard at the Top of Johnny Cake Hill

When paired with the Jacobs Family Gallery this open courtyard is perfect for ceremonies or cocktails. It is nestled at the top of Johnny Cake Hill along cobblestone streets offering a classic and historic New England feel.
